There's a reason why General Santos City was hailed as the "Tuna Capital of the Philippines." Take a glimpse of what the festival comes to offer.

General Santos City was hailed as the "Tuna Capital of the Philippines" because of its bountiful source of Yellow Fin Tuna. The warm temperature of the water in GenSan City makes it a perfect spot for fishes to reproduce.

They start the festival on the month of September. The festival is a three-day event which can provide enough time for tourists to catch-up in the events.

They hold a Tuna Festival in GenSan anually to celebrate the plentiful resources that hails GenSan. This serves as their thanksgiving for what God gave them. Part of this festival is the astoundingly low prices of tuna in some parts of the town. Tunas' prices ranges from 300php-700php a kilo. As if the price wasn't enough, the quality of the tuna that they sell is top of the line. Usually, export-worthy quality.

This is one of the reasons why GenSan will keep you coming back again and again.
